Metal M3 Connecting Part
Aluminum Metal Ball Head Attachment Connecting Rod RC Car Robot
The Metal M3 Connecting Part is an M3 rod end with an aluminum alloy body and a ball joint. It is 19.5mm long, its body is 6mm wide and it weighs 1.5gr. One end of the body fits an M3 threaded rod or an M3 shaft; the ball bearing with a 3mm hole at the other end is connected with an M3 screw to a servo horn, a control horn or a connection point of the mechanism.
The brass ball in the joint hole lets the connection move at an angle; even when the servo horn and the control horn are not exactly in the same plane, the push rod works without binding. That is why it is used in the steering and suspension links of RC vehicles, the control rods of RC airplanes and boats, and in robot arm and walking robot mechanisms. The metal body is sturdier than plastic rod ends and is easy to install.
The product is sold as a single piece. The picture shows the colour options; it will be sent in mixed colour according to the stock status. The M3 threaded rod, screw and nut are not included in the package.
Key features:
Ball joint: The brass ball bearing joint gives the connection angular movement; a push rod between two horns that are not in the same plane works without strain.
Standard M3 fitting: The rod end fits M3 threaded rods and shafts, and the 3mm joint hole fits an M3 screw; it is a widely used screw size in RC and robot parts.
Light aluminum body: With 1.5gr weight, 19.5mm length and 6mm body width it fits small mechanisms and adds little weight to light model airplanes and vehicles.
Sturdy and easy to install: The metal body flexes less than a plastic rod end; it is screwed onto the rod and connected with an M3 screw, no extra tool or soldering needed.

- Material: Aluminum alloy body, brass ball
- Length: 19.5mm
- Body width: 6mm
- Weight: 1.5gr
Usage information:
- Screw the M3 threaded rod or shaft into the end of the body; pass an M3 screw through the joint hole and fix it with a nut to the servo horn or connection point.
- Adjust the link length by turning the rod end on the rod; when the length is set, tighten the lock nut on the rod against the body.
- In vibrating use (RC car, boat) you can use a medium strength thread locker so that the metal threaded connection does not loosen.
Areas of use:
- RC car steering tie rod links
- RC car and crawler suspension links
- RC airplane and glider control surface push rods
- RC boat rudder linkage
- Robot arm and gripper joint links
- Walking robot leg links
- Servo linkage in camera pan tilt mechanisms
- 3D printer and model mechanisms
- Automatic lid and latch mechanisms
Precautions:
- The product is 1 piece. The colours in the picture show the options; it will be sent in mixed colour according to the stock status.
- The rod and screw size is M3; M2 or M4 rods and screws do not fit.
- The M3 screw clamps the ball to the connection point and the ball turns inside the body. The mounting surface must bear only on the ball; if it presses on the aluminum body the joint binds, so use washers on both sides of the ball if needed.
- A link that reaches the limit of the joint angle binds; build the mechanism so that it works within the joint angle of about 20 degrees.
