     The VEML7700 light sensor module is a sensor offering high sensitivity visible light detection technology. Communication can be done over I2C. It can measure up to 140.000 lux. Thanks to the high dynamic range in ambient light measurement, accurate measurement can be made in both very low and very high illumination. The sensor can measure between 0,01 lux and 140.000 lux with a resolution of 0,0036 lx/ct. It detects the ambient light and gives a 16-bit digital output. It has software adjustable gain and integration time.

     Due to its low power consumption it is suitable for IoT projects and battery powered systems.  The integration time and gain of the sensor can be adjusted by software, so it adapts to different ambient conditions.  Thanks to the ALS (Ambient Light Sensing) feature it is suitable for adaptive screen brightness control applications. It can be widely used in applications such as automatic lighting systems, screen brightness adjustment (phones, tablets), industrial lighting control, smart home systems, agricultural plant growing light monitoring systems.

Lumen: It is the total amount of light emitted by a light source. 

Lux: It is the light intensity falling on a surface.
