     The MT8870 DTMF module detects and decodes telephone key tones. In this way, various control operations can be performed with the audio signals you send from your telephone. It is compatible with Arduino and Raspberry Pi. By connecting the telephone from the headphone jack, you can send commands with the keys. 

     The MT8870 IC decodes the key tone signal coming from your telephone and sets the STD pin to 1 or 0. After STD becomes 1, the 4-bit key data is read on the Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 pins. You can control your circuit by processing this data in your processor. Its advantage over Wifi and Bluetooth control is that you do not need to be within a certain distance to control it. You can control your device remotely by calling the telephone you connected from wherever you want.
