     It is used to convert 8 pin smd type soic ICs into dip form. It is used for converting Soic8 Sop8 so8 type smd ICs. The plastic socket, which has a spring mechanism, contains a slot where the IC is seated. The IC is placed into the socket by pressing the mechanism. Then, when the springs are released, the IC becomes seated in the socket.

     Soic8 ICs come in two different types according to body width. According to the value shown with the letter “E” in the picture below, your IC may be 150 mil or 200 mil wide. Download the datasheet of your IC and check in the technical drawing section what the value shown with the capital letter E is. You will see text such as 0.150 in inches or 150mil / 200mil in mils. You need to select your spring socket according to this value.

     Also, the distance between 2 adjacent pins ( pin pitch ) is important. As standard, this value shown with the small letter “e” is 1.27mm ( 50mil ). If the distance between 2 pins on your IC is different, you cannot use this converter. You cannot use smaller ICs such as Ssop etc. with this product.
